A Guide to your Skincare Photographs

The best way to catalogue your journey is with pictures so that you can both overview and zoom in on the progress your make.

It is important to consider the following when doing your photographs:

  • Its best to have your hair off your face either in a hairband or ponytail so that the whole face is visible
  • Wear the same clothes each time. Ideally go with a neutral tone (white, grey, or black) so that the skin will have the same comparison in each photo
  • For the same reason, take the photograph in the same location with the same backdrop. The more we can have a direct comparison the better
  • Face the light, e.g., stand in front of a window so that the light is coming towards you as opposed to behind you
  • Try to use the same time of day so that the level of light is the same and never do day photos compared to night photos in electric light
  • Try to be the same distance from the camera so that the perspective of your face is the same
  • Try to get a photograph that also shows the skin on your neck and chest as these areas will also be treated by your skincare, but the textures of the skin are different and may show various levels of progress.
